Why yoga with TBCM?
-
Relieve Stress
Yoga enhances children's concentration, memory, mood, and focus and relieves stress & anxiety. Teaching children how to manage stress in a healthy way is an important life skill.
-
Increase Body Awareness
Trying a variety of yoga poses on a regular basis helps kids learn about their bodies and all of the ways they can move.
-
We Make it Fun!
TBCM incorporates literature, music, dance, large gross motor movements, and activities such as parachute games.
-
Increase Strength & Flexibility
Yoga strengthens kids’ growing bodies and helps them improve flexibility, which can reduce the chance of injury. This becomes more important as they grow and become involved in other sports.
-
Mantra & Positive Messages
Every class begins and ends with a mantra, such as: I am loved. I am brave. I am strong. I can be a leader. Through these messages, children are encouraged to love themselves and others.
-
Breath Work
We incorporate breathing techniques into every class. Children learn that they can use the breath to calm themselves anytime they feel worked up.
